Whoooo!

Cheer for the Dan!

By all the bananas in Africa, it's been a nightmare few weeks. Everything has just been set to "GoGoGoGo!" like some sort of SAS operation, and we're still not through it all. And trying to get it all summed up is like trying to untangle a plate of spagetti that has been allowed to sit and dry out for a few days, so I will just cover the Fun Fun Highlights, before posting for Musical Monday!

Flood - "Blocked Pipe"+"Large Capacity Washing Machine". Yeah, THAT much water. Somehow a main drainage pipe had blocked, so the washing machine emptied into the pipe, then the sink, and once that was full... Well... Splish Splash. Things we learned? A Washing Machine can full a pipe, a sink, two drawers, three cupboards and STILL have enough water to cover every inch of floor from one end of the room to the other. Oh, and our house is on a slope - the flood-source being at the TOP of the slope.

Decorating - A few days before the Great Flood, we started re-re-decorating the kitchen, which is now blue and yellow. And the paint still stinks.

Spring Cleaning - We've stripped out the garden. We've cleaned up the front garden. Stripped the lounge, the dining room, the kitchen, the computer room (again), bathroom, middle-landing... Sacks of junk chucked out. It still looks like chaos.

Wind - Aside from the obligatory "Dan Farting" comment, the wind finished off the fence and smashed the shit out of it. AFTER we cleaned up the garden. The man that was coming to fix it Wednesday turned up Friday (while we were out, of course) and he turned up to measure it. The dogs think it's funny as hell going under next-doors garden and pretending to be sneaky cats...

Tam - The Little Madam hit the big Two. Lucky for us, the Terrible Twos started the moment she was pulled from Jo's interior slime, so we're well prepared for it. Friends, Family, Freeloaders - all came to eat our food and see the little lady. Who still refuses to talk.

The In Laws - Jo's parents have just returned from three weeks in Brunei seeing Jo's younger brother and his family, which means Jo has been heading to and fro helping her older *cough*incompetent*cough* brother with the animals.

Geeeerms - Thanks to an un-named family member or two that I am related to who's name rhymes with Jemma, we all got sick again. I spent a blissful two days living with Jodie-No-Voice as she rasped about whatever, but we're both still germified.

ISP - Blueyonder has been bought our by Virgin. If there are new people there, they are trained chimps. I swear one of them has been flicking switches at random with the whole "Ooooh what does THIS button do..." We're waiting for a BT Engineer to come and see if we have their stuff in the house already.

Computer - Or, rather, Com-POO-ter. Jo's machine has been poorly, and after two weeks of it crashing almost constantly, I finally figured it out. The solution came to me in a dream, which was 0dd, but then, I do have some strange dreams...

And I am sooo sure we're not out of the woods yet. Posting will probably remain either sporadic or via Text Message (The MMail is me posting on my cell phone while running for my life somewhere). But I will get a Musical Monday post done!

I would have Dan come and declutter my house but apparently that involves flooding, germs, computer crashes, tornadoes that take out fences and in-laws... It all sounds like typical "Dan" stuff to me, but I'll pass.

Glad to see you back 'ol buddy. Hope your life calms down a bit.
