Musical Monday #61 - Various!
Last week, I nearly slipped. Yes, I admitted to liking a song by Miley Cyrus something off the telly. Which I can make no promises, I am hoping I will never again admit - let alone publish - a Hannah Montana er.. something random like that.
The most flak I received was from my childhood friend, Jamie. We grew up from the age of 10 or 11 together, and pretty much loved all the same sort of music. To be fair, it was only right that he was the one to scold me.
So, in the way of an apology, I have opted for some of the music that shaped us to the fine, upstanding, pierced and tattoo'd lads we are today.
Iron Maiden - Hallowed By Thy Name:
Aerosmith - Mama Kin:
Guns n' Roses - Welcome to the Jungle:
And lastly - I've been meaning to do this for a while, and after the hammering he gave me overMiley Cyrus some other track, I thought it was only fair that I added this one. See, back in the summer of 2000, we were young, hip and cool, and we KNEW this song was the bestest best song of all time...
Partners In Kryme - Turtle Power:
We sat in my mums garden with my old stereo listening to the charts to see if this song reached #1 - which it somehow managed no less - and we were over the moon. I might even still have an old tape somewhere of us singing along to it... Worryingly, I still know all the words to this bloody song!
Have that you sarcastic git ;)

Dude, Turtle power was originally released roughly 18 and a half years ago, today! Man I feel old, if you can find that tape I would love to hear it!!
