Star Wars Virgin

Kellie is, shall we say, a little sheltered in the ways of Sci-Fi.  Currently, she is ploughing through my copy of The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy, and she loves-loves-loves her Lego Star Wars games. Granted she enjoys Lego Batman and is waiting on her Lego Indiana Jones, but she loves her Star Wars.  She's also ploughed her way through and loved the Lord of the Rings trilogy (to the point she's named her cat Arwen), so slowly but surely, I am getting her more worldly.

Well, Other Worldly ;)

Edit: A correction has been pointed out to me. Madam Kellie is a complete Doctor Who buff, so is not as unworldly as I realise ;)  I apologise, and will admit I was wrong... :D

In a worrying turn of events, however, she's not seen the movies - at least, not to the point of being able to actually remember any of them.  So, me being me, I'm going to MAKE her watch them all.

And herein lies the issue and reason for this post.  What order should she watch them in?

It seems a simple question, but then, I'm not sure what to do for the best.  See, us Old Timers that watched them the first time around watched them in the order they were released.  New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi.  Then, years later, when the new films came out, we had to watch them; Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith.  And, later still, the CGI animated Clone Wars movie and subsequent TV Series.

In order of release, the story would probably make no sense, but then, 4,5,6 then 1,2,3 makes for interesting fore-shadowing story telling.

Now, the story order would make sense in a story-telling way.  1,2 - then the Clone Wars, then the series, then 3,4,5 and 6.  This would tell the story like a book, page to page, as it were...

But I just don't know what to do for the best.  So, I ask you dear reader...  What do we think would be the best way for a Star Wars Virgin to enjoy the entire collection?

Release Order:
Episode 4: A New Hope
Episode 5: The Empire Strikes Back
Episode 6: Return of the Jedi
Episode 1: The Phantom Menace
Episode 2: Attack of the Clones
Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith
The Clone Wars (Movie)
The Clone Wars (Series)

Chronological Order:
Episode 1: The Phantom Menace
Episode 2: Attack of the Clones
The Clone Wars (Movie)
The Clone Wars (Series)
Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith
Episode 4: A New Hope
Episode 5: The Empire Strikes Back
Episode 6: Return of the Jedi

I think that they should be watched in released order.the emotional impact of empire would be drastically reduced by watching them in chronological order.

having asked the star wars expert that is my lil man, he eats, sleeps and pee's star wars all day every day, star wars is his life. He insists that you have to watch them starting at Episode 1 thru to Episode 6 last.

So there you have it, my lil man is the jedi master and he knows best ;) hehe!!

Hmmm... an interesting question... it has to be said although I would never disagree with the jedi master of lil man.... and in chronological order would make sense, I cant help but point out that the reason 1, 2 and 3 were made was on the back of the success of the 4,5 and 6.. also as Anonymous points out, watching them in chronological order would actually negate the impact of the first 3 films, especially empire.

So I would vote for release order. (Havent voted on the poll as I cant be bothered to register lol)
