Happy Birthday 0dd Mummy

Today, 8th August 1890-something, the 0dd Mother was born.  Yes folks, if you believe that my presence on Earth is a disaster zone, you can blame her.

So, to my mum.  Happy Birthday.  Thank you for putting up with my shenanigans, thank you for not abandoning me, thank you for not putting something nasty in my dinner to put me out of your misery.

I know we all went through a lot as kids, but you were always there for both Gemma and myself.  If we needed something, you went without, and got what we needed.  You bought us up into well-adjusted kids, then teens and into adults.  When everything was hard and rough on us, you were the rock that saw us through everything.

I can only hope that as I grow older, the things you taught me still apply.  I can still cook, and clean and look after the house.  Your lessons are passed on down to my kids, and I can only hope the things you taught me and made me into who I am apply to the kids and they grow up as well as I did.

So, thank you Mum, for everything over the years.  Happy Birthday.
