Duuuuh...
There are those in the world that often believe I am hard and harsh and mean to everyone around me. After all, everyone is fair game. You do or say something daft, then I will pull you up on it or, worse, immortalise you in a blog post...
The usual recipient of my smirk and chuckle is Miss Kellie. When she says or does something daft, it is usually under full view of my watchful eye, and within hours, the world knows about it. She often says to me "Ooooh don't blog it, you make me sound stupid" to which I always reply "No it doesn't dear, but if you feel I am wrong or telling lies, then feel free to correct me and I will post an apology"
Currently, you will notice, no corrections nor apologies.
However, when the stars and the moon are at just the right alignment, it is not the world that does or says silly things, but me. And every now and then, I feel it is only proper to point out that I am only human and share such mistakes...
So, take this morning for example. Chilly autumn morning, me and Tam are stood in the playground where we usually stand, and I am doing my best to ignore the waiting horde of kids charging around screaming. And, as usual, my attention is drawn to the fading things on the playground floor - things for the kids to run on, practice their counting, snakes and ladders - that sort of thing.
One item I've never quite understood is the yellow path painted in a wiggly line around the playground. Surely, I think to myself, that a yellow path is not that much fun to run along...
The thing that always irked me the most about it is that one end is marked with "ON"
I always thought it was strangely worded... Why On? Why not Go, or Start or even just an arrow pointing... The other end doesn't have OFF or END or FINISH...
Now, there are probably some very astute people out there that have figured it already. Well, it's taken me almost two weeks to get to the bottom of this very tricky problem. See, it's not a yellow path. It's a yellow road. A yellow brick road, no less.
And that doesn't actually say ON...
Yes folks, it took a brief shift of perspective to realise ON is actually OZ. Hopefully tomorrow will in fact actually make me a year wiser.
I doubt it, somehow...
