Bloody Finally

Having received a phone call this afternoon from my hosting company, I have been forced to remove all posts relating to DRW/Gimme Gizmo.

They will be posted elsewhere, but from a legal standpoint, there's not much I can do. Interesting to see how a personal site can be considered DEFAMATORY and SLANDEROUS and required to be removed.

I am angry.

Thats brilliant! Let us know if it clears!
We had our last day in the Welwyn Garden branch today, we worked hard for two and half days, for James and Simon (operations manager apparently) to waltz in and tell us everything we did was wrong and then they guys they brought with them tore everything we did apart.

Today was basically spent arguing with Simon, who thought that we were all naive little girls who would go without a fight, he wanted us to hand our keys over to him without any proof!!

Atleast now you've got your check, there should be some light at the end of this tunnel!

And also I hope you do plan on going to the paper, because me and the other two girls are going to go to the papers once we get paid. We were treated like a piece of dirt. We had no heating meaning we have frozen the last few months, we had a blocked toilet and a sink that wouldn't stop running.
And then today both James and Simon were so rude to us and Simon snatched a file so forcibly from a girl I work with that he cut her hand.

Sorry, yet another comment, keep forgetting things.
We didn't say which branch/people we were referring to but we said that some stores who received their pay checks also got legal documents stating they were fired.
Simon's response was that there's no such thing, and Gimme Gizmo never send them out

Never send what the pay checks or documents saying they're fired?

Hiya Kirsty and all other people who have commented.
The cheques we received today, we were told were sent out for definite on Thursday or Friday last week. The post date on the envelopes however was dated yesterday. Yep.... I thought exactly the same...
As for the papers, Yes we will be contacting them. I do feel though that it would be a good idea if we were to do it as a whole. I am not sure entirely how we will do this as we are scattered over the south east, maybe if we all write to our local papers but inform them that other staff around the country are also writing to theirs, but we will try to work something out.
I cannot believe how you have all been treated, well really I can believe it, but the nerve of them. As for Simon, the legal documents he is talking about are called P45s. I have proof that they do exist and that Gimme Gizmo send them out as I have one here... what an arse.
I really hope everybody receives their cheques and legal documents that dont exist soon.....
If you would prefer and it is easier, my facebook account is in the name of Kellie Castleman. If you should add my as a friend I will message you my number. Just thought it may be easier, please dont feel you have to. That goes for all Gizmo staff.

Sorry Kellie do you have a link for your facebook page as there is more than one! lol

I know, everyone in that company is full of lies, they were still telling us today that there going to start re-opening the stores at the end of march.
I will add you on facebook, but, as the above comment, there's loads!!

Assuming that link had worked!

Kirsty said...

Hey there guys! me and my staff were getting worried we had no delivery since before xmas, no carrier bags etc, we had a staff member leave yesterday and neil said not to replace them, when i messaged him again as we have to cover someones holiday next week he ignored me. james has been texting just gone 6 to find out our total. we have no stock, no staff and no word from head office! when asked about our contracts we were told to carry on as normal! with no legal rights and no knowing whats heppening!! i rang another local store who said we will be fine, that didnt give me hope!! were reading all these findings and want to do something its not right. im guessing we will get that phone call to shut the shop soon, but when its not right!! and as for james and the neil they have been crap from the get go!! were a south yorkshire store.

Welcome to the blog, to be honest with you it is better to leave that place (laid off or voluntary by means of a new job).
My shop got shut down and in a way its a relief from all that crap, i look forward to a new job, whenever i find one. The only thing i miss is the people i worked with, we did have fun. I just don't miss the company.
Let us all know how it goes with you :)

i really love all my staff were a family and its whats kept me their, we have a giggle and to be honest play about with things too much but its been great. the company scares me all this stuff thats coming out scares me, the gas bills and other shop letters come in my name! phone calls they ask for me and think its my company!!! its all shady and i wanna leave i may have to chat to my staff and just jack it in before it closes. im not sure if theyve closed any yorkshire stores yet

To be honest I've always had my doubts about this company, the way things are dealt with in such an unusually unprofessional manner, the threat od disciplinary action for having friends/family in the shop and the fact that they can't spell! Alarm bells have been ringing for some time but now it's like a fire has started and we all need to run for our lives!

Anonymous said...

totally!!!! you summed it up for me!!! i need to get out and it needs to be today!!! its so illegal its rediculous! this is a company that will discipline you for farting basically!!! get out guys!! xx

Kirsty said...

If your not getting deliveries, get out of there as soon as possible. You will be getting closed soon. James, Neil and a bunch of guys are working their way round all the temporary stores and shutting them down. Sorry x

Thank you kirsty, honesty is wat we needed and we certainly weren't gettin that from those brummy arsewipes. I'm gonna get all my staff together and suggest we abbandon ship asap. Will keep u posted. They won't get away with how they run there "company" xx

Kirsty said...

That's alright, I know it wasn't the news you wanted to hear but atleast this way you can start searching for a job before they kick you out. If you are there at the end give them hell and if you are in a centre give the keys back to security/anyone who can give you a reciept! xx

hi there , my son was sacked by the wakefield shop in a similar manner this weekend. If anyone is getting a case together then a group should be formed. I'm on facebook....pete taylor, wakefield and I'll be starting a gizmo sacked workers owed money page!

Hey there. Were Doncaster branch I thought wakefield was permanent this is no boding well for us.

Doncaster have been advised to prepare for a delivery on either Tuesday or Wednesday. Is this a new policy, actually letting people know whats happening or code for "a big van turning up but not with stock on it" but waiting to take stock away?

Kirsty said...

Did Doncaster get a delivery?

Anonymous said...

Nope, we will see wat today brings
