Musical Monday #155 - 500 Miles
There are quite a lot of songs in the world that, no matter where you are from, you know it, you've heard it, and even if you don't like it, there's a good chance you know the words - not to mention probably bop along to it too - regardless of whether or not you actually like the song.
The Proclaimers created such a song with "500 Miles" and most of us pretty much know the song from start to finish. TV Shows such as "How I Met Your Mother" and "Bob the Builder" have stuck it even deeper into our brains, and it's popped up in various movies over the years too - just to reinforce itself as an Earworm classic.
This version, however, was for the 2007 Comic Relief charity, and there's a fairly good chance those of you from overseas (especially those that have never seen Little Britain) won't have a clue what is going on. Which, let's be honest, is the main staple of reading 0ddness.
It's virtually the same song, but sung slightly differently, mostly by different singers... You have to watch it to see what I mean...
Peter Kay & Matt Lucas - 500 Miles
