five years ago today...

this time five years ago (1030), i was tired - in fact, i was exhausted. i didn't get to bed till 4am, and i was up again at 7am, and i was the happiest man in the world.

today was the day my son was born, at 0009 on 11th december 1998, and today is his 5th birthday!

it's wierd - everyone said "the time will rush past and you won't notice it" and such like, and they were right! i can't believe how quickly he's grown. i still remember sitting there when he was delivered (by c-section, after 24 hours of labour and he got a bit testy). i remember sitting there holding him, with jo's blood all over my feet (from sitting beside her during the operation), and looking down at him, tears streaming down my face looking at the little bundle that was trying to focus his blue eyes...

you can't really explain it to people that have never had kids. they just can't grasp it, but give it time :)
