The Passage of Time

It's strange how time passes, and how we mark the passing of time.  Sometimes it passes slowly, sometimes it rushes by, and other days when you've not been paying attention, you realise how much time has passed.

Kellie and myself have been dating now for 15 weeks.  Where the hell did that time go?  I mean, it's completely flown by, and neither of us can believe it - it feels like just a little while ago.  Fifteen weeks?  I can't believe it, and nor can she.

The kids are another sign of passing time.  When I posted my Musical Monday this morning, I was thinking about the wee man and how he was when he was ickle, and then this afternoon on the way home we were discussing an upcoming trip he will be going on, to the sewage works.  Sounds gross, but is kind of interesting.  Anyway, we were discussing filtration and cleaning processes and it occurs to me how he's growing up...

Then there's the Peanut.  Up until a few months ago, she would babble away in her own language, making up words and all the rest of it.  Now, the little madam is chatting away like it's going out of fashion - full-blown conversations about what she's done, seen, where she's been...

And oh my goodness - I cannot believe how beautiful she is.

OK, yes I am completely biased, but I will fight anyone that tells me she is not the most beautiful girl in the world.  I just make pretty daughters I guess ;)  It seems just yesterday she was a wiggly baby.

Then there are the seasons.  Now, granted, if you live in England, you will be forgiven for telling me there ARE no seasons here, just various degrees of grey.  However, I stepped out this afternoon to do the school run, and was struck by how it is suddenly Autumn.  The path was littered with yellow leaves, with more blowing down the road.  The trees opposite my house are slowly starting to change colour too...

My birthday has gone, which normally means the rest of the year will fly by.  Halloween is next, then Guy Fawkes Night, then Jaysens birthday and without warning Xmas and New Year will be here...  Which means that 2009 is just around the corner.

Is it me, or has the year whizzed by?

I always mention Tam when I talk about pretty little girls, she really is one of the most beautiful I've seen.

It's a sign of growing older Dan, sorry to break it to you.

I agree with you and all of the above crowd - you do make beautiful kids and from what I've seen on here, it's because you are one beautiful dad. We need more men like you.
