Pillow Cases..

I am probably the fairest person of them all... Now, I don't mean Snow White "Who's the fairest of them all" as that is already a given.  I mean fair, as in, giving people the benefit of the doubt, no matter what brand of crazy they might appear.

So, yesterday, being Mothers Day, we were over with Kellies mum, hereafter, the 0dd Mother In Law.  James, Kat & Harry of Devon fame have come back to Essex for the week, and being mothers day, we all piled there for dinner.  With the Devon Brigade staying with the 0dd Mother In Law, she needed to sort bedding and stuff out, so after a very impressive dinner (Moroccan Chicken, yespleasethankyouverymuch!) she set to bustling around and sorting their stuff out.

Duvets and Pillows, Sheets and Blankets... Then out came the ironing board.  For a moment I thought that maybe she was sorting out clothes.  Then out came the pillow cases.

I looked at her.  She looked at me.  "Really?" was about all I could muster, and she started giggling.  Jon - her other half - looked at me and also laughed and just nodded.  "You're ironing... pillow cases?" I managed, and she nodded, and set to ironing said-pillow cases.

I pointed out to her that she was, in fact, as mad as a bag of frogs, but she wouldn't have it...  "I makes them nicer to lay on" she tried, as Jon added one to a pillow and proceeded to screw it in half and lay on it.  I am thankful to say, that everyone present agreed that she was bonkers.

But, being me, and this being a new avenue of crazy, I decided to see if maybe I was somehow wrong.  Perish the thought.

So, Facebook and Twitter last night had my message of "Brief question for the world... Do you iron your Pillow Cases? Please reply yes or no!" and I said to the 0dd Mother In Law, if more than half of the responses are "Yes I do!" then I would apologise, but more than half were "No chance!" or similar, then her label of "MENTAL!" would remain.

Facebook: 25 responses: 3 Yes, 21 No, 1 "What is Iron?"
Twitter: 2 responses, 0 Yes, 2 No
Total: 27 Responses, 3 Yes, 23 No, 1 "What is Iron?"

11.1% of people DO iron their pillow cases.
The rest don't.  And Greg isn't sure of Iron.

So, apologies 0dd Mother In law, but you remain a mental.

EDIT: Just pointed out to the 0dd Mother In Law that as the results show only 11% in her favour, she is mad.  Her response? 

"No, me and 11% of the nation are mad!"
