Musical Monday #147 - Runaway Train

In a moment of old-man-weakness, I am afraid I have to start this post with the following statement: They don't make 'em like this any more.

A bold statement, I know, but I stand by it.

As is usually the case, this is a song that has popped into my head for no rhyme or reason - it's just THERE in true Earworm fashion. For once, however, I don't mind. There are worse song that could be rattling around up there.

Now, originally, this song is from the end credits of the movie Lethal Weapon 3 - again, they don't make 'em like they used to, not that LW3 is the best of the movies - but they are all great films. I've not seen any of the series in a very very long time, so I don't know why this song is suddenly lodged up there, but there you have it.

You may not agree with me, but that's fine. It's certainly not the best song by either Elton John nor Eric Clapton, but with them both belting out the lyrics, it's bloody great. Add in the late-80s-early-90s-drum-beat style, and it's just one of those songs.
